Health information

Kalamrasa is a book club. We read fiction and non-fiction about mental health and self-development, and our conversations about them are general information shared between readers. The club doesn't provide counselling, therapy, diagnosis or any other health service.

Who hosts

Najah Tarmizi hosts Kalamrasa and holds a BSc in Psychology and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology. She is not registered as a counsellor or clinical psychologist, and does not offer counselling or psychological services through the club.

Where our information comes from

When we add background to a discussion, we use public health sources and published research, and we name the source so you can read it yourself. We check the pages on this site at least once a year, and the date at the top shows when we last did.

Your own situation

If you're worried about your mental health, start with a GP or a government klinik kesihatan. They can assess you and refer you to a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist or registered counsellor if you need one.

In an emergency

If you or someone near you is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital.
